Dr Jochen Kammermeier

Dr Jochen Kammermeier is a highly qualified Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in complex gastrointestinal conditions, he delivers meticulous, evidence-based care tailored to the individual needs of young patients and their families. His patient-centred approach ensures that families feel fully supported, informed, and reassured throughout every stage of diagnosis and treatment.

Dr Kammermeier completed his specialist clinical training in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition across leading medical centres in London and Oxford. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical research, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from University College London for his advanced research into monogenic inflammatory bowel disease and early-onset digestive disorders. He maintains active professional memberships with key clinical bodies, including the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, where he has held leadership roles in specialist working groups, as well as the British Society of Gastroenterology.

In his clinical practice, Dr Kammermeier focuses on evaluating and treating a broad spectrum of paediatric digestive health conditions. His primary areas of interest include Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, monogenic inflammatory bowel disease, and very early onset inflammatory bowel disease. He also manages functional gastrointestinal disorders, rumination syndrome, eosinophilic oesophagitis, chronic constipation, and nutritional health challenges, alongside leading dedicated transition services to support young patients moving into adult healthcare.
