Dr Jill Gardiner

Dr Jill Gardiner is a Consultant Medical Oncologist who specialises in the diagnosis, assessment, and management of thoracic malignancies, particularly lung cancer and mesothelioma. Working within a multidisciplinary team, Dr Gardiner provides patient-centred care utilising evidence-based systemic anti-cancer treatments tailored to individual clinical needs. Her professional approach focuses on guiding patients through diagnosis and treatment pathways with clarity, empathy, and reassurance.

In her clinical practice, Dr Gardiner focuses on systemic therapeutic options, including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy. She is deeply committed to advancing cancer care and actively recruits patients to national clinical trials evaluating novel treatments for lung cancer and mesothelioma. Beyond direct patient care, Dr Gardiner is actively involved in medical education and professional development, serving as a Training Programme Director for Medical Oncology as well as an appraiser and mentor to medical colleagues.

Dr Gardiner completed her primary medical degree at the University of Glasgow. She subsequently undertook specialist registrar training in Edinburgh, where she was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) for her research conducted at an attached Imperial Cancer Research Fund unit. Her strong foundation in clinical research and higher medical training supports her ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, modern oncology care.
