Dr Jill Bishop

Dr Jill Bishop is a highly dedicated Consultant Clinical Oncologist who specialises in the non-surgical management of cancer. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, she is committed to providing high-quality care to individuals navigating a cancer diagnosis. Her primary clinical focus lies in the treatment of breast cancer, including metastatic breast cancer, as well as gynaecological cancers and cancer of unknown primary (CUP). Dr Bishop works closely with multidisciplinary teams to design personalised treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Dr Bishop completed her undergraduate medical training in Sheffield, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). She subsequently undertook her specialist postgraduate oncology training across Leeds and Sheffield. Demonstrating a strong commitment to clinical excellence and continuous learning, she has earned several postgraduate qualifications, including Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). Additionally, she holds a Diploma in Palliative Medicine (Dip Pall Med) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCertMed Ed) with Merit.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Bishop is deeply passionate about medical education and the development of future oncology specialists. She serves as a Training Programme Director for Clinical Oncology, overseeing the training and mentorship of registrars. Her outstanding contribution to teaching was recognised when she was named Trainer of the Year by the Oncology Registrars Forum. Through her involvement in clinical trials and research, she actively contributes to advancements in cancer therapies, ensuring her patients benefit from evidence-based and up-to-date clinical practices.
