Dr. Jesus Olmo

Dr. Jesus Olmo is a Consultant in Sports Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Isokinetic Medical Group. He is also the director of Doctor Olmo Clinic in Granada, Spain and co-founder, Football Science Institute FSI.

Dr Olmo gained his medical degree (LMS) in 1989 from the University of Granada and went on to obtain an MD in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in 1994. He then undertook a Masters in High Performance in Sports, Spanish Olympics Commitee and Madrid Autónoma University. The following year, he completed a PhD in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Madrid Complutense University.

Additionally, Dr Olmo has been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (Sports Medicine Section) with Prof. Freddie Fu of Pittsburgh University, United States of America. He has also been a specialist in the Management and Direction of Clinical Units at the National Health School in Madrid.

From 1995 to 2000, he was the head of medical services for the Spanish Rugby Union and went on to become a research fellow at the High-Performance Sports Centre in Madrid. In 2000, he became head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Functional Testing at Hospital Central Fraternidad Muprespa, Madrid. Between 2006 and 2015, he was the head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine at Quirón Hospital, Madrid.

Dr Olmo was the doctor for the Spanish Rugby Sevens National Team for two years and has also been the Real Madrid CF Medical Director for four years: (Honours: 3 UEFA Champions League, 1 Liga, 1 Copa del Rey, 2 World Club Championship, 2 UEFA SuperCup)
