About Dr. Jessica Mok
Dr. Jessica Mok is a Consultant Bariatric, Upper GI, and General Surgeon, as well as the Clinical Lead for Bariatric Surgery at Homerton Hospital. She leads the Bariatric Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), providing comprehensive, tailored care to patients seeking long-term weight loss solutions.
Dr. Mok has significant experience in pharmacotherapy. She conducted a randomised controlled trial (RCT) using a GLP-1 receptor agonist for patients experiencing suboptimal weight loss following bariatric surgery. Additionally, she has been involved in clinical trials recruiting patients for weight loss injections.
Dr. Mok is also deeply invested in clinical nutrition and endoscopy, having co-authored the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) Nutritional Guidelines. Her current research focuses on optimising weight loss strategies and better understanding the biology of obesity, ensuring that her practice remains at the cutting edge of evidence-based treatments.
Beyond her work in bariatric surgery, Dr. Mok has extensive experience in laparoscopic cholecystectomy, minimally invasive hernia repairs, and the management of upper GI conditions such as acid reflux.
Dr. Mok is also passionate about teaching and serves as a trainer in laparoscopic skills, contributing to the development of future surgeons.
