About Dr. Jane Perera
I have been in the field of Psychiatry since 1995 and have a wide training and experience working in both the NHS and the Private Sector.
While I cater for the broad range of Adult Psychiatry, over the year I have developed special interest areas: the impact of physical illness on mental health, Bipolar Spectrum Disorders, Early Life Trauma and its impact on the person, Personality Disorders and Challenging behaviours, Neurodevelopmental Disorders like Autism and ADHD and how often it is missed. The impact of Substance Misuse and how it can complicate the overall picture.
Over the years I have retained a curiosity about my patients' journey, their strengths and vulnerabilities and the importance of working with the patient. This means getting to know the patient, offering validation and challenge in equal measure while retaining hope for recovery
