About Dr. James Clements

Mr Jamie Clements is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with specialist expertise in reconstructive, microsurgical and aesthetic plastic surgery. He trained in Northern Ireland and later completed a highly competitive International Microsurgery Fellowship in Newcastle upon Tyne, developing advanced experience in complex reconstruction involving the breast, head and neck, facial palsy sarcoma defects and the extremities.

He currently practises with Belfast Plastic Surgery, providing consultation and surgical care across several private locations in Belfast. His approach combines detailed reconstructive planning with aesthetic principles, with particular emphasis on patient safety, function and natural-looking outcomes.

His areas of expertise include microsurgical reconstruction, breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction, sarcoma reconstruction, upper and lower limb reconstruction, complex soft-tissue reconstruction, reconstructive plastic surgery and facial aesthetic plastic surgery. A major focus of Mr Clements’ work is the reconstruction of complex defects following cancer surgery, trauma and significant soft-tissue loss. His fellowship training provided advanced exposure to microvascular tissue transfer and reconstruction of the breast, head and neck, sarcoma defects and extremities, supporting both functional restoration and aesthetic outcome.

Further refining his aesthetic precision, Mr. Clements completed the inaugural British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) mentorship in Belfast, gaining advanced experience across facial aesthetic surgery, breast procedures including reduction, augmentation and lift techniques, male chest reduction and body contouring.

Mr Clements’ practice is centred on precise surgical planning, evidence-based care and individualised reconstruction. His combined experience in microsurgery, reconstruction and aesthetics enables him to consider not only wound closure or disease treatment, but also long-term function, contour and appearance when planning complex reconstructive procedures.
