Dr Husam Wassati

Dr Husam Wassati is a leading Consultant Head & Neck and Neuroradiologist based in London. He qualified in 2009 and subsequently underwent a unique dual-training pathway, beginning with neurosurgery training at specialist London hospitals before completing his specialist clinical radiology training in Leicester and Nottingham. His foundation in surgical training provides him with a highly detailed, anatomically precise perspective when interpreting complex neuro-imaging, spinal scans, and head and neck cases.

In his current role at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Wassati is recognised for his clinical innovation and expertise in multimodality imaging, specialising in the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the thyroid, salivary glands, and lymph nodes. Demonstrating his leadership in pioneering interventional techniques, he co-introduced the UK's first microwave ablation service for benign thyroid nodules at the Princess Royal University Hospital, offering patients a cutting-edge, minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery.

Beyond his clinical duties, Dr Wassati is a dedicated educator who regularly facilitates national courses for radiology trainees and medical students. His active memberships in prestigious professional bodies, including the Royal College of Radiologists, the British Society of Head and Neck Imaging (BSHNI), the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ESHNR), and the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR), ensure his practice remains continuously aligned with global advances in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
