Mr Gareth Bashir

Mr Gareth Bashir is a highly regarded Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon based in London. He specialises in a comprehensive range of general surgical procedures, with a particular focus on hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, and proctology. Dedicated to delivering patient-centred care, Mr Bashir utilises advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques to ensure optimal outcomes, minimal discomfort, and a swift recovery for his patients. His clinical practice encompasses the treatment of common and complex conditions, including various types of hernias, gallstones, haemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and pilonidal sinus disease, as well as the removal of benign skin lesions, lumps, and bumps.

Mr Bashir completed his medical degree at the University of London in 1999, having also obtained an intercalated Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Medicine from Imperial College London. He undertook his basic and higher surgical training within the North East Thames region, during which he also earned a Master of Education in Surgical Education from Imperial College London. In 2009, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and he received his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2010. To further refine his expertise, he completed two prestigious post-qualification fellowships in colorectal surgery, including a year at a world-renowned specialist bowel centre, where he gained extensive experience in advanced colorectal procedures, inflammatory bowel disease management, intestinal failure, and pelvic floor surgery. He is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, the British Hernia Society, the European Hernia Society, the Hunterian Society, and the British Medical Association.

Beyond his clinical work, Mr Bashir is deeply committed to medical education and surgical training. He serves as a Surgical Tutor and is an active Education Faculty Member and Quality Assurance Assessor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
