Dr Fiona Castell

Dr Fiona Castell is a highly accomplished Consultant Clinical Oncologist who specialises in the treatment of breast cancer and acute oncology. With a patient-centred approach, she is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals navigating complex cancer diagnoses. In addition to her expertise in breast oncology, Dr Castell is a leading specialist in acute oncology and serves as a Senior Clinical Advisor for metastatic spinal cord compression services, ensuring patients receive prompt and coordinated care during oncological emergencies.

Dr Castell qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, University of London, in 1996, having previously completed an intercalated Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biochemistry in 1993. She undertook her specialist training in clinical oncology through a prestigious London rotation. Her professional qualifications include Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), obtained in 2000, and she was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2005. She completed her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2008.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Castell has a profound interest in medical law and ethics, completing a Master of Arts in Healthcare Ethics and Law from the University of Manchester in 2011. She has previously contributed her expertise to a Research Ethics committee and has served as a Clinical Lead for ethics and law. Highly committed to medical education, she actively teaches a wide range of healthcare professionals, sharing her extensive knowledge to help train the next generation of oncology specialists.
