Dr Nicholas Maisey

Dr. Nick Maisey is a highly respected Consultant Medical Oncologist affiliated with Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. With extensive experience in his field, he plays a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive cancer care to patients within the private healthcare sector as a member of Independent Oncology.

Dr. Maisey completed his medical qualification at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 1993. His dedication to continuous learning and advancement in his field led him to be awarded his FRCP in 2008. He further developed his skills during his specialist training in medical oncology at the renowned Royal Marsden Hospital. During this time, he secured a grant from the National Cancer Institute to conduct research at the Institute of Cancer Research in London.

In recognition of his research efforts, Dr. Maisey earned an MD in 2002, focusing on early response markers in lymphoma. He has been active in research with numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international meetings.

Within his role at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust, Dr. Maisey serves as a consultant in medical oncology. He has taken on leadership positions, currently holding the position of medical director for the South-East London Cancer Network and vice-chair for the upper GI Tumour Working Group. His clinical interests involve the systemic treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, including oesophageal cancer, gastric cancer, gastro-intestinal stromal tumours, small bowel malignancies, colorectal cancer, and carcinoma of unknown primary.

Dr. Maisey is an active member of several prestigious professional organisations, including the Royal College of Physicians, the Association of Cancer Physicians, the British Medical Association, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His commitment to cancer care and research makes him a respected figure in the field of oncology.
