Mr Bloch is a Consultant Eye Surgeon specialising in cataract surgery and the treatment of vitreoretinal conditions, including macular holes, epiretinal membranes and retinal detachments.
After graduating from Oxford University in 2009 and University College London Medical School with distinction in 2012, Mr Bloch completed his ophthalmic training in London. His training included a three-year clinical fellowship at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital and Institute of Ophthalmology, funded through the Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences. To further refine his expertise, Mr Bloch undertook advanced fellowships in both medical and surgical retina at St Thomas' Hospital, London, and Bristol Eye Hospital. He is highly skilled in managing a wide range of conditions, from routine macular hole and epiretinal membrane surgery to complex, high-risk cataract procedures and vision-saving retinal detachment repairs. He utilises the latest technology to ensure the highest standard of care.
Mr Bloch is an active contributor to ophthalmic research and has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers on topics ranging from cellular genetics to advanced robotics and artificial intelligence. He frequently presents at international conferences and has received multiple awards for his work.

He listened to my concerns and adapted the treatment accordingly. I was very happy with the whole experience
Excellent service. Very professional and punctual procedure.
Mr Bloch put me at ease from the moment I met him and kept me informed of what was happening throughout the procedure.
Mr Bloch was very helpful and thorough always explained everything very clearly and it a lovely manner.
I had an emergency appointment with a detached retina. Mr Bloch explained the procedure and I undertook surgery the following day. I was extremely anxious but Mr Bloch and all in the department were able to get me through the operation with good aftercare instructions. Following surgery I revisited Mr Bloch who reassured me that my eye healed well and the consequences of a detached retina.. i.e. a future cataract.
Mr Bloch & team are extremely professional, & listen to any concerns you may have & deal with them in a caring manner.
Very pleased with the professionalism of Mr Bloch and his team, and the speed at which I was treated. I would advise anyone who experiences floaters and flashes in their eyes to get it checked immediately.
