Dr Anand Saggar is a Senior Consultant in Clinical Genetics at St Georges University Hospital NHS Trust. He trained at St Bartholomew's Medical School, University of London, where he qualified in 1982. Dr Saggar began his career at St Bartholomew's Hospital from where he went on to work in several London Teaching Hospitals and also the Karolinska Nobel institute in Sweden. He has a extensive record of experience in genetics, respiratory medicine, diabetes/endocrinology, cardiology, intensive care, nephrology (kidney disorders) and neurology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
He led the multidisciplinary team at St George's for three years, providing services for a population of 2.7 million people in the South West Thames Region. His specific interests include; inherited kidney diseases, paediatric dysmorphology, adult onset genetic conditions, polycystic kidney disease, Marfan and related aortopathy syndomes, hypertension, tuberous sclerosis and family cancer histories.
In addition to this Dr Saggar has published over 40 papers and still continues to publish actively while maintaining his clinical practice. He is also a founder, director and medical adviser to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity (UK) and Ex-President of the Medical Genetics section at the Royal Society of Medicine. Previous to this he was Secretary of the Clinical Genetics Society, which is the UK professional society for Clinical Geneticists. He is also Chairman of Arts St Georges based at that hospital.

Dr Anand Saggar is an accomplished clinical geneticist who provides a comprehensive clinical assessment for all his patients. He is exceedingly well thought of by peers and patients alike and is well regarded for his broad experience in clinical medicine. We have co-cared for a number of patients with joint hypermobility and postural tachycardia syndrome and they all speak very highly of him.
