Professor William Man is an excellent, knowledgeable, and helpful specialist, providing clear explanations that help patients feel at ease. He offers accurate diagnoses for long-standing issues, identifying broader health concerns such as heart failure and managing conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma with inhalers and specialist referrals. Patients value his careful listening, which helps them feel validated and understood. Professor Man is frequently consulted for breathlessness, troublesome cough, and long COVID, with many appointments conducted via video.
Professor Man is a great specialist, I got the chance to test my lungs post covid and we found life changing information. Unfortunately, I had extreme admin issues with his secretary. I was under extreme fatigue when I had my first appointment and now years later, I wanted access to my results and consider a follow-up. I was gatekeeped from having a new appointment, I was not given not even a new specialist recommendation. I had to request the hospital directly my tests (which they found in 48hs). She did not reply directly none of my queries. All avoidance. Long covid patients are very vulnerable. We need gentle care. I am now in admin-referral limbo. As many long covid patients, I have seen 10+ specialists, this is the very first time I have this lack of care from a secretary.
Professional and knowledgeable. I found him very reassuring and he put me at ease throughout. He also has a fabulous secretary Anne who is very efficient.
I saw Prof Man today with my mother in law. He was very helpful and informative and was very clear in his explanations of the option available. We felt very at ease during the appointment and came away very satisfied with the outcome.
Professor Man is a kind, caring, knowledgeable and incredibly professional specialist. He took the time to listen to me very carefully, allowing me every opportunity to explain my symptoms but also asked questions that showed he had listened to me and he honed in on specific areas that I can only imagine helped him get a really good picture for my diagnosis. I found him courteous and above all, ready to answer questions and concerns I had. Following up from our consultation, which at no stage ever felt rushed, he took great care and time in detailing accurately everything discussed. He understood my most pressing concerns and highlighted them in my gp letter. He gave me a formal diagnosis for an issue I’ve spent two and a half years trying to resolve. Although I am still in the early stages of tests and treatments I have absolutely no doubt I am with the right consultant and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I know for definite I will be looked after and given the care and understanding I have sadly not received from other doctors regarding this diagnosis, until now. I would not hesitate to recommend him highly to other patients and indeed on several occasions, friends who have been under his care have urged me to seek his opinion. I am so grateful that I did. Professor Man is a rare find. He affords his patients the highest standard of care and dignity and works hard to ensure we feel validated and believed. He has the rare quality of both a caring attitude and astonishing knowledge which gives you every faith that he will do everything he can to fi...

What a charming gentleman, listened and then explained everything to me
As someone who works in ophthalmology, I could interact on a slightly higher level than most can, but he was very engaging and helpful in approaching the issues with my condition. Overall a very positive experience.
I was able to get an appointment quickly, for long covid. Dr Man was kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. It was a relief to speak to someone who has some long covid experience, even though no one can know everything as it’s still all new. I was able to make progress with specialist tests that my GP wouldn’t have known about. I would say he goes over and above to try help his patients. Highly recommend Dr Man.
