About Dr Sumeet Sharma

Dr Sumeet Sharma is a Consultant Cardiologist with specialisation in interventional cardiology and has more than a decade of experience in the treatment and management of general and interventional cardiology issues, including chest pain angina, palpitations, diziness, breathlessness, post COVID issues, coronary artery disease, coronary angiography, pacemaker insertion and complex coronary interventions. He sees private patients at the BMI Runnymede Hospital and the Nuffield Health Woking Hospital.

Dr Sharma gained his primary medical degree in 2002, after which he undertook his specialist cardiology training on the South Thames Rotation. This rotation included renowned hospitals such as King's College Hospital, Royal Sussex County Hospital Brighton Hospital and St. Thomas' and Guys Hospital. Upon completion of his training, he was awarded a cardiology fellowship, where he gained knowledge and expertise regarding cardiovascular risks in high risk populations, platelet function and endogenous thrombolysis. This fellowship also allowed Dr Sharma the opportunity to present his work at international cardiology conferences and also to author various publications in renowned medical journals, such as the European Heart Journal, as well as in medical textbooks.

Once Dr Sharma completed his fellowship, he was appointed Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in 2016, at Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals, where he has since become clinical director for the general and interventional cardiology services provided at the trust. Dr Sharma also holds an Honorary contract with St Thomas' and King's College Hospital, where he performs complex Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures.

Poor bedside manner. My previous experience of private healthcare was better than this. Would not return.

We trained together

I have worked with Dr Sharma for many years. We have performed together many complex coronary angioplasty procedures, mainly chronic total occlusions and it is always a great pleasure working with him. He is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist and gives an excellent clinical opinion. I would strongly recommend him without any reservations.
