About Mr Stephen Green

I qualified from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1993 and the majority of my medical and specialist orthopaedic training has been in the North East of England. I completed a Fellowship in specialist surgical training in Auckland, New Zealand in 2005. I was appointed consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Sunderland Royal Hospital in 2005 and I've worked in clinical practice and various clinical leadership positions for South Tyneside and Sunderland Trust ever since then.

My main clinical interests are in hip and knee replacement surgery particularly complex and revision cases and those in younger patients.

In qualified from Medical School at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1993.

I completed basic surgical training in 1998, obtaining FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

I completed specialist Trauma & Orthopaedic surgical training in the Northern Region, obtaining FRCS(Tr&Orth) in 2003.

I completed a Fellowship in specialist arthroplasty and revision surgery in Auckland, New Zealand in 2004-5.

I have worked as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery since 2005 both for the NHS, in Sunderland Royal Hospital and also South Tyneside District Hospital; and in private practice at Spire Hospital Washington.
