About Dr Rohan Mehta
Dr Rohan Mehta is a Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine with over two decades of experience in specialist practice. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh School of Medicine in 1992 and completed his general medical training in the Newcastle region. He then undertook specialist training in respiratory medicine in Wales, entering the Specialist Register in 2002 with accreditation in both General and Respiratory Medicine.
Following completion of training, Dr Mehta was appointed to his first consultant post in Bridgend, South Wales, where he worked for 12 years. In September 2014, he relocated to Wiltshire and has since been a Consultant Respiratory and General Physician at Salisbury District Hospital.
Dr Mehta’s clinical practice encompasses a broad range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, lung cancer, sleep apnoea, pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, and asbestos-related and occupational lung diseases. He provides assessment, investigation, and long-term management for patients with both acute and chronic respiratory disorders.
He has been a member of the Royal College of Physicians since 1996 and was elected as a Fellow in 2008 (FRCP). Dr Mehta is also a member of the British Thoracic Society, British Sleep Society, British Medical Association, and Medical Defence Union.

Dr Mehta is very professional and clear in his explanation of my condition.
Reassuring. I never feel as though I am being hurried. Very positive experience. I feel he has a strong sense of caring and I am convinced this would apply to all his patients. For context the 'visit' was a telephone appointment.

I felt we had time to explore my condition and discuss suitable courses of action.. I felt comfortable and that we considered a range of scenarios.
Experience was first class, appointment on time, no waiting, consultant so easy to speak to, immediately put me at ease, very composed, showed all X-Rays, explained investigatory procedures, conclusion and future plan. Answered all questions, and at no time did I feel rushed.
Dr Mehta was very supportive and took time to explain his recommendations. Far exceeded my expectations. I felt like he understood all of my complex medical conditions and would work alongside my consultants to treat me as a whole for the best overall outcome.
I have found Dr Mehta to be excellent in explaining my condition and options. He takes the time in a consultation such that you never feel rushed and answers your questions in an understandable way. I have every confidence in Dr Mehta with my care.
