About Dr Ravi Ratnavel
Dr Ravi Ratnavel is a Consultant Dermatologist covering all aspects of General Dermatology which includes dermatological surgery, paediatric conditions, inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer. However, he has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and skin eruptions in both adults and paediatrics.
Dr Ratnavel qualified from the Universities of Oxford and London in 1985 / 1988. He then completed training in many teaching hospitals in London and Cambridge, before being appointed Consultant Dermatologist at Buckinghamshire and Oxford Churchill NHS Trusts. He currently works for the NHS and the private sector in London and the Thames Valley area.
He can perform cyst, mole, wart and skin cancer removal. He also has clinical interests in hair conditions, acne, psoriasis and skin allergic reactions.

Dr Ravi Ratnavel exceeded my high expectations. His clinical care, expertise and communication skills are all excellent. He had been recommended by my GP, by GP friends and by a former patient. My only minor learning point is to mention, very subtly, and with goodwill, that he should not assume that the husband will pay the bills or is the prime BUPA account holder 😉 I am so grateful for this treatment as my father suffered malignant melanoma I am delighted to have been treated by him and hope that he will look after my skin for years to come.

I had a very severe breakout of a skin condition and consulted with two doctors via Bupa over the Christmas holidays who tried me on various tablets and creams but none of these worked. Subsequently My own GP prescribed me with scabies cream which fortunately I didn’t take as I knew it couldn’t be that. My condition was so bad that I could not sleep or leave the house. After one consultation with Dr Ratneval within 10 mins he identified the cause which none of the other doctors got right and within 1 week my skin healed and I could sleep. I can just say he’s the best. Would highly recommend him.

He is an excellent and courteous dermatologist. He has always provided an incisive diagnosis on skin-related issues which I have had to refer for an opinion.
