About Dr Rajdeep S Khattar

Dr Khattar qualified at the University of Southampton Medical School and underwent his specialist training in cardiology in the London Deanery. This included comprehensive
training in both advanced echocardiography and percutaneous coronary intervention. He has been a Consultant Cardiologist for over twenty years, and his NHS practice is based at Royal Brompton Hospital, part of Guys and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust. He is the Clinical Lead of Echocardiography at both Royal Brompton Hospital and London Bridge Hospital.

He has a major interest in managing patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations or high blood pressure, with a strong clinical and academic interest in coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure and valve disease. He has extensive
experience in stress and contrast echocardiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography, 3-D echocardiography, coronary angioplasty and stent implantation.

He has a Doctorate in Medicine with over 120 publications in a broad range of cardiological conditions. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with The National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College, London. He remains very active in clinical
research and continues to supervise postgraduate trainees for PhD and MD degrees.

With his vast experience and expertise, he has been awarded Fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the European Society of Cardiology. Outside interests include tennis, golf and music.
