Dr Philip Preston

I attended the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London before pursuing medical and higher Specialist Training in Dermatology in the West Midlands. I complemented my training with a Fellowship in Skin Surgery (Mohs) & Lasers in Cardiff before taking up my NHS Consultant post in Worcestershire in 2007. In 2021 I transferred my NHS post to Solihull Hospital.

I established the Mohs Micrographic Surgical Service in Worcestershire and led the Countywide Skin Cancer Team for over a decade. I the senior Dermatologist in the county and work both in the NHS and private sector.

I am a General Dermatologist trained to assess and manage all forms of skin disorders and disease. I have a sub-specialty interest in the assessment and management of sun-damaged skin, moles and skin cancers. I undertake various skin surgical procedures to remove benign and malignant skin lesions always aiming to achieve the very best outcome and minimise scarring. I take great pride in my Clinical Practice and aspire to deliver bespoke Dermatological solutions to the very highest clinical standards whilst offering that all-important continuity and consistency of care to my patients.

My interests away from work are centred around my love of sport, exercise and family life. I am a regular Park-runner and cycle to wherever and whenever possible. I am a keen golfer and play occasional cricket matches in the summer. I am a volunteer junior hockey coach and enjoy nothing more than supporting my children from the sidelines in their various sporting and creative pursuits.
