Dr Peter Currie trained at Liverpool University Medical School and was awarded MB ChB in 1981. Their early training was in Liverpool where they obtained MRCP in 1984 and performed research in the area of silent myocardial ischaemia. Dr Currie was later a middle-grade Cardiologist at The Western General Hospital in Edinburgh and the Middlesex Hospital London.
Dr Currie was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 1993 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 1999. They have been a Consultant Cardiologist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital and Spire Murrayfield Hospital Wirral since September 1994. Dr Currie is the clinical service lead for cardiology at Wirral University Teaching Hospital.
Dr Currie's research interests include silent myocardial ischaemia. In their spare time, they enjoy golf, football, skiing and walking.

I qualified as a doctor in Liverpool University Medical School in 1981 (MB ChB). I trained as a junior doctor at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Royal Liverpool Hospital and Wirral University Teaching Hospital. I becamse a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1984 (MRCP). I undertook Research in Cardiology 1986-89 leading to a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD). I trained as a middle grade Cardiologist in Edinburgh (1989-93) and London (1993-4). I was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital in 1994. In 1999 I was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP).
