Dr Peter Clarkson

Dr Peter Clarkson is a Consultant Cardiologist and Physician practising at Spire Clare Park Hospital in Farnham and Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic in Guildford. He qualified from the University of London in 1988 and has extensive experience in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, pacing and general internal medicine.

Dr Clarkson is the lead cardiologist at Frimley Park Hospital, where he established services including the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic, diagnostic angiography and pacing services, transoesophageal echocardiography and coronary intervention services including angioplasty and stenting. He is also a partner at Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic and holds an honorary contract at St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

His clinical interests include arrhythmia and electrophysiology, atrial fibrillation, congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, hypertension and echocardiography. He also has experience in pacing and cardiac devices, interventional cardiology and cardiovascular medicine.

Dr Clarkson performs a range of cardiac investigations and procedures including coronary angiography, transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, echocardiography reporting, fractional flow reserve (FFR), percutaneous coronary intervention with and without stenting, pacemaker insertion, implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) procedures and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT).
