About Dr Nicholas Schofield
Dr Nicholas Schofield is a consultant anaesthetist who specializes in peri-operative care for high risk patients undergoing vascular, hepato-pancreatic-biliary (HPB), and liver transplant surgery. He has comprehensive cardiovascular anaesthesia experience and is accredited in transoesophageal echocardiography. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Schofield is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor with University College London (UCL) and was a founding member of the Royal Free Perioperative Research Group (RoFPoR). His interests include coagulation and bleeding management, Patient Blood Management (PBM) in surgery, and enhanced recovery in liver transplantation.
