About Dr Mark Samaan
Dr Mark Samaan is a consultant gastroenterologist based at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital.
He specialises in colonoscopy and has clinical interests in Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel disease (IBS), and ulcerative colitis.
Dr Samaan has extensive experience as a clinician and researcher, having spent time at specialist IBD centres in a number of countries as part of a fellowship. He has been involved in a vast number of IBD research projects and has had his work published in high-impact journals, including the American Journal of Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Additionally, he has authored many book chapters on IBD.
Dr Samaan's dedication to improving education on IBD led to him placing runner-up for the 2016 ‘BSG Alistair McIntyre Prize'. He has also won the St George's Young Researcher of the Year Award twice. In recent years, he has received an RCP/NIHR CRN Award for Outstanding Research Leadership in the NHS (2017) and an ECCO Travel Award.
He was BSG Young Gastroenterologist of the Year for Clinical and Translational Science in 2018 and was selected as an Advanced Fellow for the Cornerstones program at Digestive Disease Week for three years in a row.

I recently had a private consultation with Dr. Mark Samaan at the Cleveland Clinic following major surgery. Despite never having met me before, Dr. Samaan was incredibly caring and took the time to listen to my concerns thoroughly.
