Dr Cohen qualified in medicine from the University of Birmingham, where he also achieved first-class honours in Physiology (BSc) before completing his MB ChB in 1994. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1998 and subsequently undertook a Medical Research Council Clinical Research Fellowship at Hammersmith Hospital. His strong academic background culminated in the award of a PhD in Physiology in 2005, based on his research into the role of gut hormones in the regulation of appetite and food intake.
In 2006, Dr Cohen was appointed Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Barnet Hospital. He currently practises at Chase Lodge Hospital and Spire Bushey Hospital, specialising in obesity, diabetes, and disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid and pituitary glands. He works closely with surgeons, specialist nurses and dietitians to ensure coordinated, high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr Cohen has been exceptional throughout my diagnosis and treatment for Cushing's syndrome. After years of unexplained symptoms including weight gain, fatigue, nocturia, muscle weakness and other health issues, he quickly identified the underlying cause and arranged the necessary investigations and treatment. He has always taken the time to explain results clearly, answer questions and ensure I understood the next steps. His proactive approach has made a huge difference, and I finally feel that I am receiving the care needed to get my health back on track. I would highly recommend Dr Cohen to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, thorough and caring endocrinologist.
