About Dr Mark Cohen
Dr Mark Cohen is a highly experienced and compassionate Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetes Specialist, known for providing comprehensive, individually tailored care for patients with complex endocrine and metabolic conditions. He has a particular clinical interest in the management of obesity, working within a multidisciplinary framework to deliver evidence-based and patient-centred treatment.
Dr Cohen qualified in medicine from the University of Birmingham, where he also achieved first-class honours in Physiology (BSc) before completing his MB ChB in 1994. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1998 and subsequently undertook a Medical Research Council Clinical Research Fellowship at Hammersmith Hospital. His strong academic background culminated in the award of a PhD in Physiology in 2005, based on his research into the role of gut hormones in the regulation of appetite and food intake.
In 2006, Dr Cohen was appointed Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Barnet Hospital. He currently practises at Chase Lodge Hospital and Spire Bushey Hospital, specialising in obesity, diabetes, and disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid and pituitary glands. He works closely with surgeons, specialist nurses and dietitians to ensure coordinated, high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Appointment was fine, General notes regarding the follow-up letter: At the beginning (No 8 under diagnosis) it shows a weight measurement which is significantly out of date. The letter shows 2 different height measurements. Surely they can't both be correct?
Dr Cohen has been incredibly supportive throughout my treatment. He always gives me the time I need, explains everything clearly, and approaches every conversation with genuine empathy. His calm and understanding manner makes me feel listened to and reassured.
