About Professor Malcolm Rustin
Dr Malcolm Rustin is a highly accomplished Consultant Dermatologist who specialises in treating atopic eczema, skin cancer, psoriasis, and rare skin diseases. He graduated with a Medicine degree in 1976 from the University of London and completed his medical training at Middlesex Hospital in London.
Dr Rustin actively conducts research on atopic eczema and collaborates with Professor Arne Akbar from the Department of Immunology. He has supervised many MD and PhD students and has published over 100 articles based on his research. In recognition of his significant contributions to the field, University College London awarded him a personal chair in 2011. He has also held several prestigious positions, including Academic Vice-president of the British Association of Dermatologists, President of the Section of Dermatology at the Royal Society of Medicine, and President Elect of the Dowling Club.
