Dr Mahalakshmi Gurumurthy

Dr Gurumurthy completed her training in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK where she then went on to do sub-specialisation in Gynaecological oncology in 2012.

She is a Gynaecologist and Gynae-oncologist and practises as a full time Consultant in Aberdeen royal Infirmary and does regular clinics on Tuesday afternoons in Albyn Hospital; Aberdeen.

She specialises in the field of gynaecological cancers and regularly sees women with suspected gynaecological cancer and pre-cancerous lesions.

She is also an accredited colposcopist and sees women with abnormal cervical smears and vulval conditions.

She has done training in robotics surgery and introduced robotics surgery in gynaecological oncology in Northeast Scotland.

She performs complex laparoscopic and open surgeries for women with gynaecological problems

and introduced advanced laparoscopic surgery for cervical cancer for the North East of Scotland.

She also sees patient with benign ovarian cysts and fibroids and management by laparoscopic route.
