About Dr Karolina Gholam
Dr Karolina Gholam, Consultant in Paediatric Dermatology, currently works within the Great Ormond Street Hospital. She also holds the position of Honorary Lecturer at the Institute of Child Health.
Dr Gholam is dually accredited in paediatrics and dermatology, one of only 2 doctors throughout the entire UK to do so. She undertook her postgraduate Master's in Clinical Paediatrics, her Master's thesis focused on Familial Haemophagocytic Histiocytosis. Her research work was later published in the journal "Clinical and Experimental Immunology". She has also had other peer-reviewed publications including articles on the use of propranolol for infantile haemangiomas and other paediatric dermatology conditions. She continues to contribute back to the education of young doctors, she qualified from the Paediatric Educator's Programme and regularly lectures on all aspects of paediatric dermatology.
