Dr Kapil Bhargava is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon, specialising in skin cancer, skin surgery, hair and scalp disorders and cosmetic/ laser dermatology. He is frequently asked to provide second opinions for patients referred by other dermatologists.
He is currently based at The Royal London Hospital where he is Lead Consultant for Skin Cancer and Mohs micrographic surgery. At St Thomas' Hospital/ St John's Institute of Dermatology he sees patients referred from across the UK for hair and nail disorders. He undertakes private practice from his Harley Street clinic.
Dr Bhargava obtained his MBBS from University College London, graduating in 2003 and earning several academic prizes. After completing membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2006, Dr Bhargava undertook speciality training at St John's Institute of Dermatology, leading to entry on the Dermatology Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in 2012. Subsequently he completed a Joint Royal Colleges approved Fellowship in Mohs and Advanced Dermatologic Surgery before taking up his role at St Bartholomew's and The Royal London Hospital and setting up the Mohs surgery service. He has gained further experience internationally, including in the United States, Canada, and mainland Europe. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians based on endorsement by his colleagues locally and nationally.
In addition to his clinical duties, Dr Bhargava is an invited speaker nationally and internationally on skin cancer, surgery, hair disorders and cosmetic dermatology and acts as a supervisor to specialist dermatology trainees. He has authored numerous peer reviewed publications and book chapters. He is a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation.

I have been treated by Dr Bhargava on two occasions - both have been extremely positive experiences. He is very approachable, he explains all the options available to you and you will never feel forced into a decision. He is on hand if you have further queries following your consultation and provides you with reassurance so you feel as comfortable as is possible before undergoing an operation. In addition I had concerns over how I might scar after the procedure, as I have tendency for my scars to stretch and thicken but with his skill and following his directions for after care my scar is barely visible - so I am truly delighted. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending Dr Barghava

Dr Bhargava is a consummate professional and a genuinely lovely man. His focus was on the quality of my care and my comfort. Through every step of the process I felt like a valued client. He's very good at his job!! He managed to perform procedures on rather sensitive areas of my body and did so in such a way that my discomfort was very much minimised. I'd have no hesitation in calling Dr B in future!

Very clear explanation of problem statement and next steps. Use of technology also helpfully introduced. Prognosis to remove relatively lower risk mole fully supported as was decision to maintain a watch on a left cheek mole which has been in place for a number of years without any noticeable change.
