BACKGROUND: Dr Kwan has over 25 years of clinical experience in stroke medicine, neurorehabilitation, internal medicine & gerontology. He qualified from UK & USA: Bristol (MB ChB 1994), Southampton (MPhil 2000), Edinburgh (MD 2002), UCL at Queens Square (PG Certificate in Clinical Neurology with distinction 2006), Cornell (Plant-based Nutrition 2015) and UCSF (Dementia Scholarship 2015). 

EXPERIENCE: Dr Kwan has been a stroke consultant since 2006, visiting professor of medicine at Bournemouth University (2009-20), medical director for regional stroke network (2008-10), and clinical associate professor at Hong Kong University (2014-18). He is currently a senior stroke consultant at Charing Cross Hospital, where he is NIHR Stroke Clinical Research Network lead and Imperial Stroke Education Programme director. He has published over 140 scientific articles and book chapters, and won several major awards in stroke care. 

CLEVELAND CLINIC LONDON: Dr Kwan is a consultant physician in the Neurorehabilitation Unit & Acute Admission Unit, with a Friday afternoon outpatient clinic. You can expect a personalised, bespoke and holistic approach using the latest medical advances, whilst empowering you through lifestyle and nutritional optimisation, and fitness training to improve the well-being of your body, mind and spirit. He can provide guidance on recovery, prognosis, return to work and how to regain your quality of life after stroke. 

PERSONAL: Dr Kwan enjoys healthy eating, fitness training, art and music. He engages in charitable work with Chelsea Football Club Foundation in promoting nutrition and exercises for brain health.
