Mr Wong did a wonderful job restoring the sight in my left eye after suffering from floaters for many years. I confidently await vitrectomy surgery on my right eye for the same issue.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes at The Spire Hospital in Cheam on 27 August 2026.  Everything about the place, the staff, the care and my treatment was incredible. 
Professor Ayliffe was courteous and professional, his explanations were easy to understand without being patronising,  in other words I found he had a great 'bedside manner'. 
He was also really lovely with his team before, during and after the surgery speaking calmly, gently and giving them positive feedback throughout.  It didn't surprise me to hear that many have worked with him for years and, as well as being very loyal, they all rate him as being the best.
So, in my view, he is a tiptop surgeon and manager with a genuine liking for and respect of people.
