Dr John Hunt

Dr John Hunt is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with appointments at BMI Healthcare and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has a particular clinical interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease, advanced endoscopy, and hepatobiliary conditions.

In addition to his gastroenterology practice, Dr Hunt is a Visiting Consultant to the Eating Disorders Units at The Priory Hospital Group, where he supports the medical management of patients with complex nutritional and gastrointestinal needs. He is also increasingly involved in cancer diagnosis and management and is a member of the London Cancer Alliance Upper Gastrointestinal Group.

Dr Hunt qualified in medicine from the University of London in 1979 and was awarded a Doctorate in 1993. His postgraduate training included senior medical officer and registrar rotations in Canterbury, Guildford, and Westminster, as well as a research registrar post at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. He has also held academic roles, including Lecturer in Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London.

He is an active member of several professional organisations, including the British Medical Association (BMA), the American Gastroenterological Association, the Royal Society of Medicine, and the British Society of Gastroenterology.
