Dr. Florentina A. Dumitru is a Consultant in Allergy with over 15 years of clinical and scientific experience in the field of allergy and immunology. She has gained her expertise in both clinical and laboratory settings, making her a leading figure in the field. Dr. Dumitru specialises in food allergies, anaphylaxis, hay fever, asthma, venom allergy, drug allergies, and allergy skin testing.
Dr. Dumitru graduated from medical school in 2001 before specialising in Allergy and Clinical Immunology from 2002 to 2007. Following her specialist training, she completed a PhD at Imperial College London, where she further honed her research skills. She also undertook a clinical fellowship in allergy at the Royal Brompton Hospital and worked as a locum consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals and Homerton Hospital.
In February 2022, Dr. Dumitru was appointed Clinical Lead for the Adult Allergy Service at Imperial College NHS Trust, based at St Mary's and Hammersmith Hospitals. Her career trajectory has also included an academic research fellowship at Imperial College London (2008–2011) where she completed her PhD, followed by a clinical fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital (2011–2014) and further consultant roles at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals (2014–2017) and Homerton Hospital (2017).

First time in a long time did I feel listened too and see by someone who is very knowledgeable! It felt good to leave my appointment with some answers and a plan!
I visited Dr Dumitru's allergy clinic to diagnose a recurring skin rash. While no direct allergy or explanation was identified, the conclusion was that it was most likely a chemical allergy. I changed my personal care items (shampoo, shaving foam, moisturisers) and the rash symptoms have all disappeared. SO thank you very much, a huge improvement to everyday life!
So helpful and thanks to Dr Dumitru I can now eat Kinder Bueno again after nearly 4 years! The allergy test was super informative and helpful and has made my life so much easier now going forward!
