The first time I met Professor Chan I was rather taken aback. There were no preliminaries. No bedside manner. Straight to the point. This consultant was different from any others I had met. The second time I met him I was prepared. Facts. Specific problems. Questions. It was then I realised how brilliant he was. By getting straight to the point he gave me so much insight, wisdom and practical proposals. More than any other consultant I’ve seen, (and I’ve seen quite a few!). Then I realised that, having got through the veneer of clinical detachment, he was actually warm, caring and interested in me as a person. And, after five consultants at the NHS, all warm and experienced, he got to the heart of my problem and sorted me out. I walked into his consulting room. “Great news.” Said with a warm smile. I believed him. I was so reassured. I intend to see Professor Chan annually for the rest of my life, or until he retires. I’ve never met a doctor like the Professor. I do wish there were more like him. I hope he knows how much, positive, difference he is making to people’s lives.
Professor Chan was extremely professional, friendly and very clear in his explanations including the results of my scan. He was very reassuring, thorough and had read my notes before the appointment and offered a very understandable pathway going forward. Overall, he was the best specialist I have seen and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others. Outstanding!

Professor Chan was extremely professional but so approachable and helpful. He explained and took time to make sure that we understood what he was saying. The clinic is immaculate and the staff so polite and friendly…. All of this along with the facility to book a taxi from a machine at the door made the whole appointment and experience at the clinic the best it could be and extremely easy.
Professor Chan is absolutely superb - my 85 year old Mother was referred to him as she has been experiencing severe dizziness and forgetfulness. He arranged an MRI of the brain and also ran some relatively quick fire cognitive tests on her. We had the results last week - which proved extremely interesting and positive.
Professor Chan has a capacity I had not yet encountered. .His approach is to asking questions in order to comprehend one's perspective is commendable. Not jumping into his own conclusions and ensuring by repeating what one has attempted to explain in one's own words makes the whole difference. In his own words, I was lucky to have received and reacted well to the first choice of treatment, for which I am grateful.
