Dr David Stephen Furze

Dr. David Furze is a specialist in Advanced Prosthodontics and Dental Implants at South Coast Dental.

After qualifying from Cardiff University in 2000, Dr. Furze joined the Royal Army Dental Corps. He achieved the rank of Major with postings in Germany, Bosnia, Brunei, and the UK. Following this, he completed his initial surgical training in the Royal Surrey County Hospital and then joined a private practice. He undertook further postgraduate training at Kings College London in Prosthodontics and was awarded a Fellowship at the University of Berne in Switzerland.

Dr. Furze has published extensively in the fields of aesthetics in dental implants, immediate loading of dental implants, ceramic implants, and digital dentistry. He has also been published a number of research papers in peer-reviewed international dental journals. He has presented his work at the European Association of Osseointegration congresses in Athens and Copenhagen, as well as the ITI World Congress in Geneva.

He is regularly invited to lecture on the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implants and has lectured in France, Switzerland, Latvia, Dubai, and Oman. He is a founding member of The Byrnes Implant Study Group, the BDA, and SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry).

Outside of work, Dr. Furze enjoys playing rugby and is a keen snowboarder.
