Doubtless many grateful comments speaking to Dr. Mellor’s expertise and manner will have been left ahead of anything I might write, I shall therefore confine myself to two aspects which, I suspect, may feature less frequently in such reviews.

Firstly, I appreciated being given the time to fully explain the background to the consultation; much of what I had to say was peripheral to the clinical matter at hand yet it was important to me to be heard and I was given the space to be fully expressed. Secondly, the letter, subsequently drafted by Dr. Mellor, was free of “back-covering” caveats – in this litigious and defensive world, this was a refreshing change.
