Dr Ashok Rai

Dr Ashok Rai is a leading rheumatologist with over 20 years of experience. His expertise includes, but is not limited to, osteoporosis, arthritis, inflammatory conditions, connective tissue disorders and metabolic bone disease.

Dr Rai graduated at Birmingham Medical School in 1985 with a specialisation in rheumatology and also involved in teachingat an undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as providing clinical supervision. He has been involved in research studies including the genetics of osteoarthritis.

Dr Rai has several years of management and service improvement/change experience and has been the Clinical Director/Lead of his busy NHS Countywide Rheumatology Unit. He also leads the Rheumatology multi-professional team approach across these sites.

He is also engaged in undergraduate and post-graduate medical teaching and clinical supervision.He is a University of Birmingham Medical School Senior Academy Tutor, and a visiting Professor at the University of Worcester.
