Dr Aadil Shaukat

Dr Shaukat obtained extensive training in every general aspect of cardiology. As a specialist, he is interested in all aspects of general cardiology and specially coronary disease management and Intervention. He is with Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Golden Jubilee National Hospital as a Consultant Cardiologist. His role at the Royal Infirmary involves the provision of inpatient and outpatient services dealing with wide issues like Hypertension, Heart Failure, Cardiac Rhythm and Valvular disorders. He he takes up Coronary Intervention at Golden Jubilee National Hospital. He is performs a wide range of coronary intervention procedures with special interest in complex coronary intervention including High-speed rotational atherectomy, Lithotripsy, Intracoronary Imaging and he is also involved in the Primary Angioplasty out-of-hour service for acute heart attacks at the Jubilee Hospital. The research interest of Dr Shaukat is with the management of the coronary disease along with the Golden Jubilee reserach team. At Glasgow Royal he was the local principal investigator for the forthcoming multi-centre trials Dalcetrapid in Acute Coronary Syndrome- DalGenE Trial and colchicine for CV outcomes in acute coronary syndrome COLCOT Study. Aadil has extensive interest in education and is the training programme director for the Cardiology Programme, WoS for National Education for Scotland.
