Mr Donal McAuley

Mr Donal McAuley is a highly qualified Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon who provides comprehensive care for a broad range of conditions affecting the face, mouth, and jaws. With extensive expertise in both medical and dental surgical disciplines, he delivers meticulous clinical assessment and tailored surgical treatment plans. Mr McAuley is committed to offering patient-focused care that prioritises safety, functional restoration, and aesthetic balance, ensuring patients feel reassured and fully supported throughout their treatment journey.

In his clinical practice, Mr McAuley maintains a specialist interest in hard and soft tissue facial deformity and facial trauma. His clinical work includes orthognathic surgery utilising advanced virtual surgical planning to correct underlying facial skeletal asymmetry and facial profile imbalances. Additionally, he performs facial camouflage procedures, such as onlay implants to augment overlying soft tissues, working closely alongside Consultant Orthodontists to achieve stable and aesthetically pleasing outcomes. His expertise also extends to managing temporomandibular joint disorders, salivary gland pathology, and performing surgical treatment for benign and malignant facial skin lesions.

Mr McAuley earned his primary medical degree (MB BCh BAO) from Queen's University Belfast in 2002. Following core surgical training, he completed a dental degree (BDS) at Queen's University Belfast in 2012 to fulfill the requirements for dual qualification in his field. He completed higher specialist surgical training across major maxillofacial units in Scotland and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2020. He is an active Member of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
