Dr Dipak Kotecha

Dr Dipak Kotecha is a Consultant Cardiologist and Professor of Cardiology who specialises in non-invasive cardiac imaging and the management of complex cardiovascular conditions. He delivers patient-centred care for a wide range of heart problems, focusing on personalised management strategies designed to optimise cardiac health and enhance long-term quality of life.

In clinical practice, Dr Kotecha holds particular expertise in managing heart failure and heart rhythm disorders, notably atrial fibrillation. His sub-speciality focus encompasses advanced diagnostic techniques, including transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). In addition to his direct patient care, he is actively involved in international cardiovascular research, pioneering digital health technologies, and exploring the application of artificial intelligence to refine diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic outcomes in Cardiology.

Dr Kotecha completed his medical training at the University of Bristol, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2000. He attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2004 and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cardiology from Imperial College London in 2010. He subsequently completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Trials with distinction at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2018. Professionally, Dr Kotecha is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
