Dr. Dinesh Giri

Dr Dinesh Giri is a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and currently practices at the Bristol Paediatric Clinic. He originally qualified with an MBBS from Dr M.G.R. Medical University in 2004, later completing specialist paediatric training and achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2016. He went on to pursue advanced academic training, earning an MSc in Genomic Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2017 and an MD in Paediatric Endocrinology from the University of Liverpool in 2018.

Dr Giri’s doctoral research explored the genomics of rare endocrine disorders, shaping his evidence-driven approach to clinical care. His practice covers a broad spectrum of endocrine conditions, including disorders of growth, thyroid disease, and variations in puberty.

He has developed particular expertise in managing childhood and adolescent obesity. Dr Giri leads the nationally commissioned childhood obesity service in Bristol, where he oversees multidisciplinary weight-management programmes for young people with complex and severe obesity. In addition to his clinical leadership, he serves as the UK Chief Investigator for several multinational clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of paediatric endocrine and metabolic health on an international scale.
