Mr Dinesh Alexander is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals, specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery, including complex and revision cases, as well as partial knee replacements and keyhole (arthroscopic) knee surgery. He is committed to providing individualised, data-driven care to achieve the best outcomes for his patients.
Originally from the Fylde Coast, Mr Alexander graduated from the University of Manchester in 2012. Following this, he completed his foundation medical training before completing a Master’s in Surgical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. His extensive surgical training took him across Yorkshire and the North-West, culminating in a prestigious revision arthroplasty fellowship at Wirral University Hospitals, where he also gained experience in treating cancer patients with metastatic bone disease.
Mr Alexander is active in research and has published over a dozen research papers, presented at national and international conferences, and won awards for his quality improvement projects. In addition, he is passionate about medical education; he teaches and examines at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including for the FRCS exit exam preparation courses for orthopaedic surgeons.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys long walks on the Fylde Coast with his family and cockapoo, weight training, and Formula 1.

The over all experience was very very good and the scar is very clean
This was a follow-up appt after arthrosamid injections in knees. Mr Alexander explained the way forward to me & what to expect. His explanations have always been clear and helpful & this was the same. Prior to today’s appt, he has administered steroid injections in both my knees followed by (some time later) arthrosamid injections. On all the occasions he has done so, the process has been quick and efficient and his care has been excellent. I have been extremely happy to have had him as my medical professional.

Mr Alexander has recently performed a knee replacement on me and everything has gone as planned i couldn't be happier about his reassuring relaxed and very professional manner.

I attended an appointment with Mr Dinesh Alexander on 9th February and appreciated the way in which he monitored my progress after a full knee replacement. I came away feeling reassured that everything was going to plan. His manner was excellent and I felt easy discussing any problems that I was experiencing.
Mr Alexander is knowledgeable and professional. He is also easy to communicate with, does not rush you, and arranges the best possible outcome from your visit. He is a skilled surgeon, I recently had a hip replacement and have had no problems from the operation.
