Dr Deirdre Maguire

Dr Deirdre Maguire is a dedicated Consultant Endocrinologist who specialises in the diagnosis and long-term management of endocrine and metabolic disorders. She delivers clear, comprehensive clinical evaluations to help patients navigate complex hormonal conditions. Dr Maguire works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive structured, evidence-based care tailored to their individual medical needs.

Her clinical interests span the full spectrum of endocrinology and diabetes. Dr Maguire frequently manages thyroid conditions, including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and goitre, as well as disorders of the adrenal and pituitary glands. Within her diabetes practice, she focuses on optimising blood glucose control and evaluating management pathways for complications such as diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain. She is also actively involved in clinical research aimed at evaluating new treatments and refining care pathways for diabetic and endocrine health.

Dr Maguire graduated with her medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Sheffield in 1997. She subsequently completed her postgraduate medical training and achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).
