Mr Deepak Batura

 Mr Deepak Batura is a Consultant Urologist at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, where he has practised for nearly two decades. He has over 30 years’ experience in general and specialist urology, gained across secondary and tertiary teaching hospitals in the UK, Asia, and the Middle East.

He qualified in medicine in India before completing a Master’s degree in Surgery and the Diplomate of the National Board. He subsequently undertook advanced urology training, obtaining an MCh in Urology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and later became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Earlier in his career, he held academic posts as Associate Professor at universities in Mumbai and Delhi.

Mr Batura’s clinical interests include reconstructive urology, lower urinary tract dysfunction, incontinence, endourology, female urology, and uro-oncology. He has particular expertise in urethral stricture disease, having introduced urethroplasty using grafted tissue within his Trust, and in the management of Peyronie’s disease. He is also experienced in laser surgery for prostate enlargement and bladder cancer. His academic focus includes the diagnosis, treatment, and research of urological infections.

Alongside clinical practice, Mr Batura is actively involved in education as an Educational Supervisor with Imperial College School of Medicine and the London Deanery. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, serves on several international editorial boards, and regularly contributes to national and international urological conferences.
