I studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge where I was awarded a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Natural Sciences (Physiology) and then the University of Oxford, graduating in 2004 and winning the Margaret Hodge Prize in Clinical Finals. I completed higher specialist training in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine in North-West London including at St.Mary’s Hospital, where I completed a PhD in Tuberculosis, and also the Royal Brompton Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital, before becoming a Consultant at Ninewells Hospital in 2017.
I am interested in the management of all patients with general respiratory and medical problems, and have a sub-speciality interest in complex lung infections and tuberculosis (TB). I am actively involved in clinical research and guideline-writing on chronic fungal lung diseases, and led the Specialist Advisory Group at the British Thoracic Society (BTS) for Pulmonary Infections from 2019-23. I am now Co-Chair of the Scottish Health Protection Tuberculosis Network and a Clinical Service Advisor to the BTS MDR-TB Advice Service. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and a PACES examiner.
I am very happy to see all patients with general respiratory and medical problems.
