Academic career
Dr David Offord graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1994. In 2001, he attained the MFDS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and in 2007 he was recognised by the General Dental Council as a specialist in oral surgery.
In 2008, he obtained the Diploma in Conscious Sedation at the University of Newcastle, which enables him to offer sedation to ease nervous patients through their surgery.

My most recent treatment was implant surgery, and I was particularly impressed by the care and expertise from both the surgeon and his team on the day. I immediately noticed a different manner from the oral surgery team — exactly what you would expect from a specialist surgeon. Calm, reassuring and always explaining what was happening, while being gentle and considerate when needed, especially as I’m a nervous patient. At the same time, there was a real confidence and assertiveness during the surgery itself, which gave me complete reassurance that everything was being done precisely and correctly. The aftercare instructions were equally thorough. Everything was explained clearly and I was given full written instructions and a care pack to take home, so I knew exactly what I needed to do afterwards. The whole process was much less invasive than I had expected, and I felt incredibly well looked after by the whole team from start to finish. Still in the recovery stages but I know where to go if I need support.

David put me ant my ease and explained the procedure thoroughly and clearly.before and during the treatment. This made me feel confident and assured that I would be comfortable with the procedure.

David is so welcoming positive and professional. I chose to have a sedated extraction so it is not possible to describe everting he did. But post operative things are great. He has an excellent team with him that he leads very well. This is my best experience at a dentist in my 63 years. A dentist referred me to him with the words he is the best dentist in Edinburgh by some way. I can see why. Thank you.
