Mr David Colvin

Mr David Colvin is a Consultant Paediatric General Surgeon who provides compassionate, comprehensive surgical care for babies, infants, children, and young people. He specialises in diagnosing and managing a wide range of paediatric surgical conditions, combining clinical excellence with a reassuring, family-focused approach. His practice is dedicated to delivering tailored surgical interventions that prioritise the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of young patients while providing clear guidance and support to parents and carers throughout the treatment journey.

Mr Colvin completed his medical degree (MB BCh BAO) alongside a First-Class Honours intercalated Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Queen's University Belfast in 2012. He subsequently completed core surgical training in 2016 and advanced speciality training in Paediatric Surgery in 2024, which included higher specialist training in Glasgow. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical training and education, he also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Education in 2022. Mr Colvin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Paed) and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS), as well as an active member of the British Association of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons.

With expertise across the spectrum of paediatric general surgery, Mr Colvin provides minimally invasive keyhole procedures, neonatal surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery. His clinical repertoire includes general childhood surgical conditions alongside diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower paediatric endoscopy. Working collaboratively with families, Mr Colvin delivers high-quality, personalised surgical care aimed at achieving optimal long-term health outcomes for every child.
