Dr Christopher Wong

Dr Christopher Wong is an accomplished Consultant Gastroenterologist and Consultant Hepatologist who provides patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of digestive and liver disorders. With a strong commitment to thorough clinical evaluations and evidence-based medicine, Dr Wong offers compassionate guidance to ensure patients receive accurate diagnoses and individualised treatment plans. His practice encompasses general digestive health as well as specialised care for complex liver conditions.

Dr Wong completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Oxford, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BM BCh) and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (BA Hons). He holds post-graduate Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London (MRCP). Following his primary medical qualification, Dr Wong undertook higher specialist training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy across the Oxford and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deaneries, which included dedicated tertiary centre hepatology experience.

Throughout his career, Dr Wong has developed broad expertise across hepatology and gastrointestinal medicine. His clinical interests include alcohol-related liver disease, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), autoimmune liver conditions, metabolic and inherited liver disorders, and haemochromatosis, alongside the investigation of raised ferritin levels and abnormal liver blood tests. Additionally, Dr Wong is skilled in managing cirrhosis and its complications, non-cirrhotic portal hypertension, benign liver tumours, and hepatocellular cancer, while performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic investigations.

In addition to his clinical duties, Dr Wong plays an active role in medical education, contributing to the training and mentorship of undergraduate medical students. He remains dedicated to maintaining high clinical standards and delivering clear, empathetic communication to help patients navigate their digestive health journey with confidence.
