With my mobility deteriorating over a 3 year period I contacted The Nuffield Wessex Hospital and arranged to see Mr Mitchell an Orthopaedic Consultant, who specialised in lower limb joint reconstruction. From a physical examination and x-rays, it was clear that I needed a new right hip and left knee joint. These were scheduled in March and June respectively. Each operation was discussed separately, with Mr Mitchell outlining the procedure, surgical risks and post-op recovery. He addressed my queries clearly and used a 3D model where appropriate to clarify points of detail. I was reassured at each stage and delighted that both procedures were completed without complications. I can now walk without pain in either joint. Both legs have recovered their full range of movement and I’m completing a course of Physiotherapy to further build up stamina in my upper leg muscles. I am most grateful for the care, treatment and consideration provided. Thank you!
