Dr Christine Azzopardi

Dr Christine Azzopardi is a highly accomplished Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist who specialises in diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive image-guided interventions. With a focus on musculoskeletal conditions and sarcoma imaging, she provides expert diagnostic support to help patients understand and manage complex bone, joint, and soft tissue disorders. Her patient-centred approach ensures that individuals receive clear, reassuring, and highly accurate assessments to guide their ongoing treatment plans.

In her clinical practice, Dr Azzopardi utilises advanced imaging modalities, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and X-rays, to diagnose a wide range of orthopaedic and rheumatological conditions. She has a particular interest in sarcoma imaging and is highly skilled in performing specialised therapeutic procedures. These include image-guided joint injections and aspirations to alleviate pain and inflammation, as well as shoulder hydrodistension for conditions such as frozen shoulder. Her expertise in these targeted treatments helps patients find relief and regain mobility without the need for invasive surgery.

Dr Azzopardi qualified in medicine from the University of Malta, where she also completed her foundational postgraduate training. She subsequently relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue advanced training, obtaining her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2013 and becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2015. To refine her skills, she completed two highly competitive specialist fellowships in musculoskeletal and sarcoma radiology at renowned orthopaedic centres in Birmingham and Oxford. She is an active member of professional medical bodies and remains dedicated to clinical research and education in her field.
